2015 Season Recap

Abstract

This year, through the great help of sponsors, grants, and personal donations, the Lightning Robotics Team 5763 was able to make its debut at the Recycle Rush © Competition in the spring of 2015. Throughout the six week building time, eighteen young high school students, with the help of eight mentors, created a robot with the capability to pick up totes and trash cans, while still being able to maneuver around pool noodles, barriers, and other robots. This document will describe the process of building the robot, the robot itself, and the changes that will come from the experience gained during the 2015 season.


2016 Season Recap

Abstract

Through the great help of sponsors, grants, and personal donations, the Lightning Robotics Team 5763 was able to compete in the 2016 FIRST Robotics Denver Regional. Throughout the six week building time, twenty-five young high school students, with the help of eight mentors, created a robot with the ability to intake and shoot ten-inch foam balls named “boulders”, while still overcoming multiple obstacles such as an uneven platform. This document will describe the process of building the robot, the robot itself, and the changes that will come from the experience gained during the 2016 season.
